There is a huge layer of satirical and humorous stories in the Yakut folklore. The present article considers humour in traditional fairy tales of Yakuts, and its role in children's socialization. By case study of the Yakut stories about animals, fairy and everyday tales the author reveals the educational aspect of the humour.
