Event tourism as a factor in the development of the tourism sector of the Vladimir region

When analyzing the state of the tourism industry in the Vladimir region, expert assessments of tourism professionals, as well as official statistical information, as well as materials from the mass media of the region, were used. The article argues that one of the factors in the development of tourism in the region is event tourism. The number of events held, their wide range of topics, the interest in their promotion of the executive power of the region, the hotel and tourism business indicates the current trend. At the same time, the region, despite the existing opportunities, is not among the most visited tourist destinations in Russia. The study revealed missed opportunities, existing problems that need to be addressed, which impede the more accelerated development of the tourism sector in the Vladimir region, which could become one of the locomotives for the development of its economy. The article offers recommendations to optimize certain aspects of the organization and promotion of event tourism in the region.
