The socialistic idea, petit-bourgeoisie ideology and popular ideal in N.G. Chernyshevsky’s novel "What is to be done?"

The aim of the article is to show that bourgeois ideology wasn’t alient to Russian revolutionary and democratic thought of XIX century. Indeed, we can say that it was «transparent». Its elements were adopted by our radicals. N.G. Chernyshevsky’s novel «What is to be Done?» was one the examples, where the main characters were preoccupied not only by the new social relations but also by petit- bourgeois economy in they daily routine and in the sphere of aesthetics.
