In the government structures after the October Revolution in Russia the class understanding and the interpretation of the practical activities of new judicial bodies prevailed. The concept of a revolutionary legal consciousness became not only official but a basis for both theoretical legal researches and the process of organizing new judicial bodies. However, according to many scientists, for a country with a peasant majority, the fact that the proletariat alone possessed a revolutionary legal awareness could hardly be considered an encouraging factor in terms of the prospects for socialism. It should be emphasized that the leadership of the Bolshevik Party was very restrained from the idea of involving old, pre‐revolutionary specialists in the system of legal proceedings being established on new bases.
