Social differentiation of the municipal residents regarding the local government institution

The article presents the research results of social stratification in the municipal districts of Trans-Baikal Territory in relation to the local government institution. Scientific relevance of the research is determined by the proposed approach to the classification of local population groups. As the variables of differentiation, the author takes the evaluation components (people's evaluation of the local authorities' activities, ongoing decisions, results, etc.), people's attitudes (willingness to show initiative, take responsibility) and self-assessment of respondents. As a result, the author has developed a cluster model of the municipal entity population, consisting of three groups differing in the type of behaviour.
