The article covers the issue of social phobia and its relationship with the violation of psychological boundaries and the difficulty of forming an integrated identity in adolescence and early adulthood. It is established that the specific relationship of parents with a child can lead to difficulty of development of child's flexible and sustainable psychological boundaries when communicating with other people. Unstable boundaries make it difficult for a person to socialize outside the family and develop a sufficiently integrated identity. Social phobia in this context is considered as a fear of rejection by the society against the background of a fragmented identity and inappropriate expectations of the individual.
