Peculiarities of services and specific activity of consumer cooperatives have conduced to consideration and elaborate study of the social efficiency assessment of service industry. In this regard the article proposes indicators of consumer cooperatives effectiveness, which take into account the peculiarities of consumer organizations, also, the authors present a methodology for calculating these indicators. Based upon the recommended method, the authors appraise this method and performs the account of the effectiveness of Knyagininskiy branch of Nizhny Novgorod regional consumer society with quantitative indicators.
