Social correction of relationships between children and relatives of a non-custodial parent after divorce

The paper reveals the essence and value of post-divorce social correction of children’s relationships with relatives of a non-custodial parent. Social correction is considered as a social work technology which is extremely important in the current situation of a high divorce rate in Russia. The research analyzes the ways, forms and methods of social correctional impact on these relationships as well as the environment that determines its efficiency. The authors distinguish the main types and characteristics of children’s relationships with relatives of a non-custodial parent. Each type of relationships is characterized by the peculiarities of applying the social correction technology. The authors emphasize that the choice of its forms and methods requires the consideration of personal traits of the people involved and certain family circumstances. It is concluded that the post-divorce social correction is an essential tool for restoring and keeping children’s relationships with relatives of a non-custodial parent.
