Social mythology as a specific type of the ideological conscience

This article examines some versions of the contemporary social mythology by studying conceptions of E. Ericson, L. Foyer, A. Wiener and J. Robertson. The research results show that ideology functions increasingly as a social mythology and notes a tendency towards development of the social and political mythology as a means of manipulation by the public conscience.
