This article is devoted to the study of social policy and its impact on demography in general. Its importance is justified and the meaning of this policy is revealed. The issues of the influence of the state's social policy on the standard of living of the population, on fertility, mortality, marriage and divorce, as well as on unemployment are touched upon. All these aspects are considered on the example of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
