Social assistance and guardianship in the Cossack village societies of Kuban during the late 18th – early 20th centuries

The article considers questions of assistance for needy people in the Kuban Cossack village societies during the late 18 th – early 20 th centuries. The author describes modes of guardianship and social assistance provided by the village society to such vulnerable social groups as poor people, orphans and widows. The paper tells about charity assistance, education support for the Cossack village children.
