Social situation for the formation and development of preschool children identity in contemporary conditions

Introduction: The article is devoted to the analysis of the problem of self-identity formation at preschool age. The relevance of this problem is determined by the changes in the system of socio-psychological conditions, prerequisites for the development of self-identity in children. The article describes the modern context of children's development determining the content of values, the prescriptions of adults that affect the formation and development of children's self-consciousness. Materials and Methods: The study by nature is theoretical. Theoretical methods of research are used: systematization and conceptualization of scientific ideas; systematic, structural-functional and genetic analysis of the problem; modeling. Results: The content and results of the preparatory and organizational stage of the study are presented. Based on the review of the main trends in the development of society, the educational system, the analysis of the key concept of the research and the relevance of the problem under study are substantiated, the main contradictions that determined the purpose of the study are identified, the novelty and the importance of the work are defined, the methodology of the study is presented. Conclusions. In the course of theoretical analysis of the problem, its essence was determined. The existing contradictions between the objective need of modern society in ensuring the development of personality and self-identity of the child in the family and educational institution, and the absence of a holistic perception of the conditions for the formation and development of self-consciousness in modern preschoolers are revealed. It has been found out that the social context changed over the past 10-15 years, and there is no scientificallybased technology for the development of self-identity in the practice of preschool education. The author of the article defined the position for solving the problems that were singled out.
