Social significance of mass sports infrastructure in the Russian Federation

Mass sports is that part of sports that is aimed at the physical education and development of citizens through self-study and participation in various mass sports events. Its main goal is to increase the level of physical fitness and health of the population. The relevance of the research topic is due to the combination of possible sustainable economic and social effects from the development of mass sports infrastructure facilities in the regions of the Russian Federation, aimed, on the one hand, at developing the investment environment, and on the other hand, at improving the health of the population. The purpose of the study is to analyze the social prerequisites and processes for creating mass sports infrastructure facilities in the Russian Federation and suggest ways to improve the use of mass sports infrastructure facilities. The analysis carried out allows us to conclude that the development of mass sports has been one of the main tasks within the framework of federal target programs for the development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation for many years now. Every year more and more attention is paid to mass sports in Russia. For the development of this sphere among all segments of the population, it is necessary to provide them with functional sports infrastructure facilities. In the course of the study, the main problems that arise during the creation and operation of mass sports infrastructure facilities were identified. The existence of the identified problems significantly hinders the emergence of new mass sports infrastructure facilities and the successful functioning of existing ones. A functional approach to solving these problems will increase the pace of construction of mass sports facilities in the country, as well as make the sports sector more attractive to investors.
