The article is devoted to the problem of objectivity of scientific researches on the level of religiousness of the population. On the material of a specific sociological research conducted among Orthodox families, the author identifies some nuances that should be taken into account in further studies of this kind. In the course of the research the following types of Orthodox families are identified: Orthodox-oriented, nominally Orthodox, “half” churched, churched.
