Socio-economic determinants of mass sports: content analysis

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and consuming physical culture and sports services is an important aspect of building a physically and psychologically healthy society. However, in order to achieve key indicators in the field of mass sports among the population, certain conditions are necessary, created by the state directly or indirectly. The relevance of this study is due to the fact that active measures are currently being taken to increase the mass participation of people in sports, including within the framework of the Strategy for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation until 2030. The purpose of the study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of scientific articles and publications on this topic and draw a conclusion about the degree of knowledge of the problem and the results of the research. The carried out analysis allows us to conclude that Russian works on the study of the topic of socio-economic determinants are focused on a wider range of factors that directly or indirectly relate to the social and economic spheres of society. On the other hand, foreign works have a better empirically obtained evidence base, indicating a high degree of influence of the individual’s socioeconomic status on physical activity. Determining and studying the socio-economic determinants of mass participation in sports is extremely important in the context of the development of mass sports in any country.
