Socio-economic effects of implementing initiative budgeting practices

The article presents an analysis of the economic results and social effects of the implementation of the initiative budgeting mechanism in the Republic of Bashkortostan “Local Initiatives Support Program” in 2016-2020. On the basis of monitoring data on the implementation of the program to support local initiatives, the features, problems and prospects for the implementation of this practice in the region were identified: there is an increase in the number of applications submitted for competitive selection, which indicates the interest of the population in this program; the number of winners of the competitive selection of the IISP is decreasing, which is due to a decrease in the amount of the subsidy of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus allocated for financing the IISP to 400 million rubles; the current trend of a decrease in the ratio of budget funds invested in the implementation of the LISP by 1 ruble of extra-budgetary revenues (funds of sponsors and the population) from 4.48 rubles to 3.84 rubles observed in 2016-2019, in 2020 was violated, due to an increase in the cost of the average the cost of ongoing projects and significant difficulties in attracting extra-budgetary funds in the context of the introduction of sanitary and epidemiological restrictions in the country.
