Socio-economic development of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the context of global challenges

This article examines the trends of socio-economic development of the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2018-2022. The analysis of these trends is conditioned by the need to study the changes that have occurred in the country and have affected the regional aspects of the socio-economic development of the federal subjects. The Russian economy is facing global challenges caused by external changes: the destabilization of the global financial system, the growth of geopolitical tension, incessant sanctions pressure from the United States and European countries. The article analyzes the issues of adaptation of regional economic to the global challenges, as well as their impact on the socio-economic situation of a particular region. The choice of the Nizhny Novgorod Region as the base region is due to the fact that it has many features of other regions of Russia with significant industrial and scientific and technical potential. The analysis presented in the article is based on statistical data, forecasts of socio-economic development of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
