Artificial intelligence is considered to be the key modern technology, the study of which has gone from a substantive discourse between specialists to a wide discussion in the media in a few years. This is due to the increasing use of artificial intelligence in everyday life (targeted advertising, medical diagnostics, remote control of robots, etc.), as well as the discussion of future innovations and possible scenarios for its development. Today there is a struggle between utopia and dystopia to explain the world in terms of the importance of self-learning machines in it. Proponents of artificial intelligence are inspired by the use of unmanned vehicles, voice assistants, automatic facial recognition and decision-making based on big data. Opponents point out that the capabilities of artificial intelligence can surpass human intelligence and thus it will become a public threat. These conclusions are strongly influenced by the purely logical notion that everything can be described and calculated mathematically. Understanding the complexity of human actions and ways of thinking increased the requirements for artificial intelligence. In the last century, research failures occurred due to insufficient computing power and lack of data. Today, artificial intelligence systems are an important part of the economy, which involves many new professional fields. In manufacturing, business processes range from optimizing conveyor lines to opening new business lines. In trade, artificial intelligence is used to detect fraud and dynamic pricing, in the field of personnel management - for pre-selection and recruitment of candidates from the reserve, in healthcare - for early detection of diseases and support of clinical decision-making processes. Areas of application also include format conversion (from audio to text), reading texts and creating avatars of speakers. The article focuses not only on the state of the technical feasibility of certain solutions related to artificial intelligence, but also on the social and cultural aspects of what changes in society are initiated by intelligent control systems.
