In recent years, immersive technologies have attracted increasing attention from scientists, educators, and gamers. Lower prices and significant technological improvements have led to increased global headset sales and increased public interest in these technologies. Virtual reality is now being considered as part of processes to support adult vocational learning from scratch and upskilling. Its applications range from the military, construction and aerospace industries to research and various service sector contexts. The areas of medical application of VR technologies, as well as the possibilities of using virtual learning environments in emergency situations, are most clearly identified. The relevance of the topic of the article is associated with the growing demand for immersive technologies not only from gamers, but also from professional users, for whom industrial VR helmets allow them to work collectively with 3D models and save huge amounts of money on training and advanced training of employees. The article examines in detail the levels of immersion in the virtual world, the investment attractiveness of these technologies and their negative side effects.
