Socio-cultural phenomenon of private collecting in the history of Russia of the XVIII - beginning of XX centuries (to the problem)

The article reveals the scientific importance and relevance of the study of private collecting in Russia, 18th - early 20th centuries. The author analyzes the level of historiographical exploration of this problem, determines the most important theoretical aspects and thematic areas for the integrated research of private collectors as a socio-cultural phenomenon.
