The social and pedagogical bases of vocational guidance for inmates of a children’s home

The article deals with the various aspects of vocational guidance for orphans and children without parental care in the conditions of boarding schools. We characterized the purpose, objectives, content, forms and methods of vocational guidance work aimed at career choice readiness of school children, highlighted the specific aspects of this activity in children's homes. The monitoring of the considered problem was carried out on the basis of Kamensky Children's Home of the Buryat Republic, the results showed the achievements, problems and prospects of career guidance development in boarding schools. The results from this study showed the necessity of activation the psychological, educational and legal assistance of boarding school graduates, as well as the strengthening of individual work, which contribute to fulfillment of child’s personal potential as a basis for his professional and personal identity.
