Social and labour relations in the Republic of Dagestan in the 2000s

The article deals with the development of social relations in Dagestan in the first decade of the XXI century. The analysis of the situation on the labor market of the republic, the problems of employment, the implementation of targeted programs to ensure the social sphere of life in the region is carried out on the basis of archival materials with a large amount of statistical data. It is noted that in the 2000s thanks to the efforts of the authorities of the republic and the assistance of the federal center, there were positive trends in overcoming the large-scale crisis of the 1990s, including questions on gradual reduction of the number of unemployed, wage in-crease and income growth of the population, insuring labor migration, social protection of disabled people and orphans, which contributed to reducing tension in the life of Dagestan society, emerged and escalated quickly during post-perestroika period.
