Social aspects of palliative care

In the modern conditions the number of people suffering from incurable diseases on the terminal stage is increasing. This fact determines the relevance of the study of special kind of social and medical care provided for such patients - palliative care. The article deals with current issues of establishment and functioning of the palliative care in the contemporary Russia. Based on the comparative analysis of Russian and international legal acts, it is concluded that current Russian regulations regarding organization of palliative care do not comply with the standards recommended in the European countries.
