The social functions of humour mechanisms in the political cartoon

The article considers the social functions of a political cartoon in the historical perspective and in the present. The nature of perception of political cartoons is analyzed. The authors describe the functions of the cartoon as an effective form of transfer of social experience in various social areas, domestic policy, foreign policy, military-political sphere.
