The article examines the functioning of Buddhist religious organizations, with a focus on the influence of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia on social processes in the face of modern challenges. Historical parallels are drawn between the economic foundations of religious enterprises and the socio-economic position of the Buddhist Church in Mongolia during the 18th-20th centuries. The study highlights the role and social functions of religious organizations in implementing socially-oriented projects in Buryatia. Using the example of the Sangha's initiative “ Social Flock” , the article presents findings from interviews with project participants. The outcomes and scale of the project demonstrate its demand among the population and its significant social impact.
