Social capital of the profession in the evaluation of Russian doctors (on the materials of sociological research in urban megacities)

The profession of a doctor is one of the most significant, socially oriented and mass professions, but at the same time it becomes less attractive, and the modern Russian doctor is endowed with features of the precariat, which makes him more vulnerable in the society. Nowadays the profession of a physician becomes a mass job and less attractive due to this labor is not highly paid. In 2017 the study was conducted in the major Russian megacities (Moscow, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don). Its results showed that residents of megacities did not consider their profession as a successful investment in the future and would recommend with caution this profession to their children, noting its negative image in the Russian society.
