Social media project «Women of Donbass»: genre, content and communication features

The article discusses the specifics of a social media project which remains a relevant but little-researched topic. Emerging as a result of technical and technological transformations in the field of media, media projects are a type of journalistic materials based on unique journalistic content. This content is created using various technological platforms. Socially oriented media projects dedicated to current socially significant issues are of particular importance here. The purpose of this study was to analyse the genre, content and communicative features of the social media project «The Women of Donbass» implemented in 2022-2023. This particular media project was chosen as a focus due to its relevance, novelty, high social significance and demand among the audience. Studying the specifics of social media projects required the use of methods of analysis, synthesis, systematization, and comparison. The empirical data of the «Women of Donbass» media project were processed using the method of content analysis. The genre and content features of this media project such as the choice of characters, the nature of the problems covered, the target setting and genre specifics allow us to classify it as a social media project. The analysis of the structure and process of implementing a media project using transmedia storytelling technologies showed that it can be considered as a communication tool.
