Sociocultural competence in the study and teaching of French languages

The article describes the key stages in the development of methods of teaching French as a foreign language. The article covers the issues of teaching intercultural communication and the formation of socio-cultural competence of students. Special attention is paid to the criteria for selecting socio-cultural materials.
