Sociocultural aspects of Russia's modernization

The problem of Russian society modernization is considered from the point of view of social activity of the population, which is not the least due to the specifics of the national mentality. In this regard, the question of whether the level of social activity meets the requirements of modernization is discussed. The analysis of this issue is based on the results of applied sociological research conducted by various research organizations in different periods of the post-Soviet development of Russian society. The article concludes that the problem of modernization is connected with the problem of socio-cultural changes aimed at the formation of a new culture, including not only patterns of consumption, but also patterns of social activity and labor behavior.
