Social and cultural expectations of town-dwellers in the XX century (case study of Chelyabinsk region)

S a result of permanent emphasis on the ideological interpretation of cultural and historical processes, but not on their nature, despite the vast historiography of the Soviet culture, there is no unbiased representation of qualitative originality of the culture of Soviet society as a holistic, and at the same time with a complex inner structure, social phenomenon. The article makes an at- tempt to reconstruct the reality taking into account the cultural environment in its diversity, with application of new sources of information and focusing on “human face” of culture of Ural cities of the mid-20th century.
