The article examines the sociocultural contradictions and the costs of the experience economy. It is shown that along with the global problems generated by the economy of experience, problems of cultural, social and personal properties are formed. The author identifies two negative modes that are formed in culture under the influence of the experience economy: the illegal elevation of consumption to the rank of activity and the unjustified "delegation" of the functions of individual self-realization to consumption. It is concluded that changes in the system of consumption experience economy, affect essential life parameters of human activity, form new ways of being and acting, which is updated fundamental contradiction between variability and stability - that it sets in motion the entire system once stable, the seemingly immutable patterns of consumption. A new discourse of consumption is being born, in which the public consciousness "removes" the negative connotation from the act of consumption itself, "elevates" it to the rank of a socially approved activity, and promotes its affirmation as one of the values of the modern world. However, the experience economy, by stimulating individualized consumption, does not guarantee the consumer the preservation and development of his subjectivity. This "self-definition" and the choice of a strategy for self-development is an individual decision of everyone, determined primarily by the entire system of sociocultural education.
