Sociolinguistic factors of the formation of national variants of the Spanish language of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic

The sociolinguistic factors are considered from the point of view of the formation and differentiation of the national variants of the Spanish language of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. It is demonstrated that the Spanish language in these countries has experienced a number of changes in the course of its evolution, which affected all levels of the language. The phonetic, grammatical and lexical features of the studied national variants are accompanied by examples. It is concluded that the intensification of social and linguistic contacts has had a significant impact on the formation of a specific language situation in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
