Sociological conceptualization of synergy by L. F. Ward

The article deals with the works of the first social scientist, who considered the sources of systemic scientific comprehension of the synergy phenomenon in the society and who used it as the conceptual core of his theoretical designing of social reality, - American sociologist L.F. Ward. The author describes the main conceptual theses of Ward''s synergy themes formulated in the framework of the social statics conception. It is concluded that the synergy helps to overcome the entropy in the society and supports its reproduction (autopoiesis) in its own framework, playing a fundamental role in the social reproduction support. The author believes that L.F. Ward was the first sociologist who considered conceptually synergy as a social phenomenon and defined its functional role in the society.
