Sociological science and education in Saratov: history and contemporaneity

The article considers the peculiarities of sociology and sociological education institutionalization in Saratov. Regional and university sociology institutionalization stages are being defined and their characteristic peculiarities are being considered. Special attention is being paid to the first period connected with the origin of the sociological science at Saratov University, with the working out of the plans of sociology teaching at the faculties and departments that existed at those times, with the organization of the first sociology chairs at the political and law department of the social sciences faculty. Some basic trends in scientific investigation of the first sociology chairs at the University are being considered on the basis of the existing archives materials and some other sources. And some stages in the lives of, the sociological scientists are being considered, too. And important attention is being paid to the formation of the sociological faculty at Saratov State University. Some basic trends in scientific investigation are being characterized as well as contribution of prominent scientists who worked at different times in the field of sociology at the University and the region
