The article deals with the possibilities of the modern computer graphics packages and their application in the training of technical universities’ students. The engineering graphics is represented by two components: the area of geometric modeling and the area of graphic documentation. The authors propose a type of part’s sketch for building its 3D computer model. The article also discusses methods of exploratory design and preparation of functional structures of technical systems.
