National projects are a tool for the socio-economic development of the state, designed to bring priority sectors to a new level. They are understood as complex programs of national importance and requiring large-scale infusions of public funds. Since 2019, the Russian government has been implementing 13 national projects in three areas: Human Capital, Comfortable Living Environment, and Economic Growth. Each program has its own curator in the Cabinet. Modern national projects are considered the successors of the failed priority national projects of the second half of the 2000s and the beginning of the 10s.
