Effect of growth stimulator epin and sodium selenate on Brassica chinensis L. trace elements accumulation

High Fe accumulation capacity of Brassica chinensis L. was demonstrated. Growth stimulators were shown to enhance Se accumulation by B. chinensis L. and other plant species. Inhibition of Pb uptake from soils as a result of growth stimulators and sodium selenate treatment suggests a significant role of selenium - a well known heavy metals antagonist - in the former case. Changes in trace elements composition of B. chinensis L. due to Epin and sodium selenate spraying proved the antagonistic interactions between Fe and Mn, Mn and Se, Se and Ni.
