Methods of pedagogical influence as the instrumentarium of retaining the young contingent of sportsmen for high performance sports

Problem and purpose. In the article the authors consider a topical problem for contemporary sports. It is connected with retaining the contingent of young sportsmen at the stage of transition from youth sports to high-level sports. This problem happens to be quite urgent at present because there is not a clear-cut and well-grounded system for dealing with the problem mentioned above. The purpose of our work is to discover the pre-requisites of preserving the young sportsmen in active sports when they reach a decisive point in their sport career and think whether to continue to go in for sports or to drop it all together. It is necessary to find the methods using which coaches would correct the training process and participation in sport events trying to prolong young people's sport career and prevent losing them during the transition stage. The methodology of the research is based on the analysis and generalization of the works of by leading Russian and foreign scholars which are devoted to the problem in question, namely, the common factors of training sessions of young sportsmen, coaches' support to them, the makings of building a sport career, self-determination and sport motivation The results of the work show a possibility of using pedagogical support which allows to identify psychological and pedagogical problem situations in a sports career and to take corrective measures in training and competition events activity. Conclusion. The authors came to the conclusion that resorting to pedagogical support provided by the computer program “The system of forecasting the successfulness for young sportsmen (SPUMS) and using some special techniques for establishing cooperation with young sportsmen will facilitate retaining their contingent during the period of transition to the high-level sports.
