Wheat straw: composition, processing issues, determination of quantitative parameters (moisture, ash-content, extractive compounds)

In the work, the main problems of biomass (particularly the agricultural wastes) utilization in the world practice are considered. One of the ways to solve the indicated problems is the biomass application as the renewable energy source. The main fields of the lignocellulosic biomass use and its structure and composition are also described. In the paper the methods of the quantitative analysis of moisture, ash-content, extractive compounds for wheat straw are presented. The paper contains the analysis results and their comparison with the literature data.
