A Disclosure of Public Funds Embezzlement Meant for the Social Infrastructure Development and Repair as a Reason for Investigation in Accordance with Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation

The article presents the results of studying empirical material generated during the investigation and consideration in courts of criminal cases initiated on the embezzlement of public funds meant for the construction and repair of social infrastructure facilities. Together with the questionnaire and interviewing of law enforcement officials involved in the identification and investigation of such crimes category, the study allowed us to make a number of theses. The study also revealed some features in the investigation of such crimes, which allowed the author to propose using the term “multi-reason” or “multi-occasion” when discussing criminalistically significant aspects of a crime report verification stage of the type in question.
