Relationship of copyright and freedom of expression in the practice of the European Court of Human Rights

This article is devoted to the study of the relationship between copyright and freedom of expression in the practice of the European Court of Human Rights. This relationship by two different groups of cases is illustrated. On the one hand, restrictions on freedom of expression also entail restrictions of copyright. On the other hand, copyright is opposed to freedom of expression. In this case, the practice of the European Court of Human Rights shows the unconditional priority of copyright.
