The article is devoted to migration which is one of the most difficult issues of the modern Mongolian society. Strengthening of migratory processes in Mongolia is caused by modern market phenomena, such as globalization, democratization, and by some interconnected historical, social and psychological features concerning nomadic culture of the Mongolian steppes as well. It is possible to assume that the nomadic lifestyle means continuous adaptation process to the surrounding natural and social environment. The aspiration for satisfaction of migratory requirement in searching favorable living conditions promotes a situational choice of migration directions: from rural areas to the cities, from the cities to the rural areas or departure abroad. In certain cases, in connection with involvement of the country into the international labor market, Mongolia becomes a host for foreigners who except of tourism, quite often choose employment in certain branches of economy. It is possible to state inter-conditionality of two processes - migration and urbanization involving a number of social and economic problems of the cities (for example, Ulaanbaatar). Reduction of cattle-farmers actualizes contradictory civilization questions: whether the nomadic cattle breeding will remain or it will be preserved as a past remnant with the development of post-industrial society. The domestic and foreign migration policy of the state should be focused on the optimum territorial distribution of manpower, strengthening of returnable migration, providing the international standards of life support in the country.
