Correlation of the structural elements of labour productivity and the factors influencing it

The paper deals with the correlation between the structural elements that affect the labour productivity, which remains very low in the Russian economy. The quality of work is one of those elements. The authors discuss its different aspects, in particular, knowledge, skills, dedication. Another element is a management system, which requires a major reorganization in order to increase the economic incentives, to reduce production costs and unit prime cost. Particular attention is paid to the intensity of labour, which is a part of the content structure of the labour and determines its quantity and efficiency. The distinction between the productive power of labour and the labour intensity is made. The productive power of labour doesn’t involve the labour constant, while the intensity of labour influences the change of the labour constant. The factors affecting the quantity and productivity of labour are defined. The two main aspects characterizing the factors affecting the quality and productivity of labour are emphasized. The paper considers the features of the factors affecting the productivity of labour, describes internal and external sources of its development. The authors discuss two methodological approaches to the analysis of the factors’ influence on the productivity and quality of work, explain the peculiarities of their growth in the conditions of the technological progress.
