Comparison of approaches to pricing in the market of bread and bread products in the regions of the Chernozem region

The regions of the Black-earth region are one of the most important agrarian macro-regions of the country, making a great contribution to the food supply of the country, since the sown areas of key types of crop production are significant. Bread and bakery products are one of the key elements in the food supply in Russia, which forms an important task to ensure their affordability for all segments of the population. However, the large territorial extent of the country and the agricultural potential of the regions together form a different situation in the food markets, which has a significant impact on the level of prices for bakery products. In the course of the study, a comparative analysis of the growth rates of average wages and prices in the bakery market in the context of the regions of the Black-earth region in the period 2018-2021 is carried out, the existing trends and their causes are identified. It has been established that today the regions of the Black-earth region are characterized by almost the same level of average wages - just over 40 thousand rubles, with the exception of the Tambov region, in which the figure is significantly lower. A comparative assessment of consumer price indices, as well as average consumer prices for the main types of bakery products, showed that differentiation in the price level remains between the regions of the Black-earth region, due to market factors. At the same time, a comparison in the dynamics of the level of wages with average prices for the main types of bakery products showed that there is no direct relationship between the standard of living in the region and the price of bread.
