Sorokin of the 2000-s: in the space of national identity myths

Бесплатный доступ

The article considers Vladimir Sorokin's prose of the 2000-s, which opened a new stage in the writer's evolution. Den' oprichnika, Sakharniy Kreml, Metel', Monoklon and other texts of this period represent the models of the history of Russia that are constructed as a kind of topical political theories, trends in contemporary historiography and mythologies of mass consciousness (civilizational approach, neo-Euroasionism, imperial myth, etc). In Sorokin's literary works the semantics, symbolism and emblematics of the national identity are constructed on the basis of the methods of deconstruction and parody that are created by the writer together with chthonian symbolics and mass culture myths.
