The subject of this article is the study of the dynamics of the composition of the German military elite and changes in its structure during the First World War. The military elite of the German Empire includes the upper stratum of German commanders - the generals, as well as officers of the General Staff, who had a great influence on the development of the plans of the First World War and their implementation.
