Structure and formation of political elite of Primorsky region

The article is focused on the mechanism of recruitment in regional political elite and the requirements for the applicants who seek to enter this group. The emphasis is made on the legislative branch of authority. The authors analyze such indicators of legislative authority’s members of Primorsky region as age, sex, education and social status during the period from 1993 to 2011. It allows to reveal and compare the main characteristic of regional political elite during the periods 1993-2001 and 2001-2011.
