The article presents the results of a blood composition analysis in Siberian roach Rutilus rutilus (L., 1758) from Cherkalov Bay of Lake Baikal. Hematological analysis revealed a typical cytological differentiation for teleost fish, represented by erythrocytes, lymphocytes, and neutrophils at various developmental stages. The erythroid series was the predominant cell population, and normal hemoglobin levels indicated the absence of anemic processes. The leukogram exhibited a lymphoid profile: the granulocytic series was represented only by mature and proliferating neutrophils. The low granulocyte count along with the absence of circulating eosinophils and basophils suggested the lack of active inflammatory processes in the studied fish. The obtained data indicate a favorable adaptive capacity and satisfactory physiological condition of the species after wintering.
