State of woody plants in different ecological zones of the Siberian city

The article presents life state patterns of woody plant species - Betula pendula Roth. and Tilia cordata Mill. common in greening of Novosibirsk. Morphological parameters of crowns and leaves were analyzed in various ecological conditions of the city. It was established that decrease in crown density, sizes of assimilative organs and deformation of them were observed in Betula pendula along arterial roads under high man-made load. Reliable distinctions between parameters of leaf blades in Betula pendula plants growing along arterial roads and in the parks were determined. Visible features of chronic injuries of the organs in Tilia cordata were not found, an increase in the size of leaf blades was observed in the zones of unfavorable ecological conditions.
