The state of state support for elite seed production in the Altai territory

The article considers the relevance of the study of state support for elite seed production in the Altai Territory, due to dependence on seed imports, the need for import substitution, increased yields, support for scientific research and economic growth. The study highlights the importance of developing its own elite seed production in order to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and ensure food security in the region. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the share of the area sown with elite seeds and wheat varieties of Altai breeding included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements. It is concluded that the mechanisms of state support in the field of crop production, including elite seed production, contribute to solving problems related to the development of elite seed production in the Altai Territory.
